What does "nature" mean to me?
One day at the Davis house I got upset at my mother because she would not let me do something I wanted to do. Being the brat that I am, I stormed out of the house to go "cool off" in the backyard. In our backyard, we have a flower bed, filled with beautiful, pink flowers, as well as an oak tree. There were bumblebees swarming around my head and all that did was make me more upset and irritated. I was in such a bad mood and did not know how I was going to get over it. Then, suddenly I realized that this was all uncalled for. Instead of blowing up and getting more upset about the situation, I began to enjoy the little things in life that surrounded me in the yard. Basically, nature is an escape; sort of like meditation. Nature is a good, healthy way to get rid of anger. Whether it be sitting on the beach, or sitting in my backyard. Being able to surround myself with so much positivity can really help my mindset when all I can do is think about is what is going wrong.
Most people define "nature" as things outside, or things that are not man made. I must say that I do agree with that statement, However, in my opinion, nature is also the surroundings that God created for man to enjoy. Some examples include birds, trees, grass, etc. Nature is also said to be beautiful to a lot of people, which explains why it is the basis of so much artwork.
There are so many things in the world that are based off of nature. For example, artists paint pictures of certain objects in "nature" or on the opposite end of the spectrum, people go outside to sit and surround themselves with nature. Also, artists might go in nature to be inspired. No matter the situation, nature plays an important role in society, regardless of if we realize it or not. When one goes outside to enjoy this thing we call "nature", they suddenly feel refreshed, or relaxed.
To me, nature is an escape from reality.
